Why Your Skin Isn’t the Problem (And What Actually Is)
Why Your Skin Isn’t the Problem (And What Actually Is)

Let’s start here—
If your skin isn’t improving, it’s probably not because you haven’t found the right product. It’s because you’re trying to fix something that isn’t actually the problem.
And I say that with a lot of love… because I see it all the time.
Clients come to me after trying everything—better skincare, cleaner products, more steps, fewer steps—and they’re still stuck.
At some point, they start thinking: “Maybe it’s just my skin.”
It’s not.
Your Skin Isn’t the Problem. It’s the Messenger.
Your skin is incredibly responsive. It reflects what’s happening underneath the surface—often before anything else does.
Breakouts, sensitivity, pigmentation, accelerated aging…
None of that is random.
It’s information.
But most approaches focus on managing what you can see instead of understanding why it’s happening in the first place.
That’s where things start to fall apart.
What’s Actually Driving It
When I look at someone’s skin, I’m not just looking at the surface. I’m looking at patterns. Here are the ones that show up the most:
Gut Health + Absorption
If your digestion is off—even slightly—your body isn’t getting what it needs. And your skin will usually be one of the first places that shows it.
You might notice:
breakouts that don’t make sense
dullness or lack of vibrancy
skin that reacts to everything
It’s not always about what you’re putting on your skin.
Sometimes it’s about what your body can’t process.
Hormonal Shifts
Hormones have a direct impact on your skin’s behavior. When they’re out of balance, things start to feel unpredictable:
breakouts in specific areas (especially jawline/chin)
changes throughout your cycle
oiliness one week, dryness the next
This is why surface-level treatments often fall short here.
They’re not wrong—they’re just incomplete.
Inflammation
This is a big one. A lot of what people label as “sensitive skin” is actually inflammation. And inflammation doesn’t start on your skin.
It builds from:
stress
food triggers
internal imbalance
environmental load
Then it shows up externally as redness, puffiness, breakouts, or skin that just won’t settle.
Stress + Nervous System
This is the piece that gets ignored the most. If your body is constantly in a stress response, it’s not prioritizing repair.
Which means:
your skin doesn’t heal as efficiently
inflammation stays elevated
everything feels harder to correct
You can be doing all the “right” things and still not see change if your body doesn’t feel supported.
My Approach
This is why I don’t separate skin from the rest of the body.
Everything I do is rooted in what I call Beauty Alchemy—working with what’s happening underneath, not just what’s visible.
It’s a layered process:
Reveal what’s actually going on
Support the body internally
Correct what needs to be addressed
Enhance and maintain the results
Not quick fixes. Not trends.
Just a more complete way of getting results that actually last.
A Different Way to Look at It
Instead of asking: “What do I need to put on my skin?”
Start asking:
What is my body trying to communicate?
Where is something out of balance?
What kind of support is missing?
That shift alone changes everything.
If You’ve Been Feeling Stuck
If you’ve been trying to figure your skin out and nothing is really clicking…
It might not be that you need to try harder. You might just need to look deeper.
